We are thrilled to announce that the Bloodhound SuperSonic Car is coming to this year’s Derby Mini Maker Faire!

The Bloodhound SSC is designed to break the World Land Speed Record and reach 1000mph!

One of our main supporters is Rolls-Royce, which is also playing a major role in the development of the Bloodhound, which is being designed and built in the UK with the help of a team from the British Army and a series of leading British firms.

Rolls-Royce has provided the car’s EJ200 jet engine – which is the same engine used in the Typhoon Eurofighter and will be used in conjunction with a custom-designed hybrid rocket in the Bloodhound – and also hosted a high speed spin test, which saw one of the car’s four wheels achieve 10,429 revolutions a minute at the company’s aero engine test bed in Sinfin in June this year.

The Bloodhound will be on Cathedral Green during the event on both Saturday 25 and  Sunday 26 October.
